Memory Clouds
Good Grief Bad Grief
Written after the death of her husband of 32 years — eight-time Grammy winning engineer and producer Roger Nichols — Memory Clouds is Conrad’s debut memoir. It weaves personal narrative with poetic prose to explore grief, memory, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive.
“Maybe time is an illusion and everything is happening all at once, especially when memories are so vivid, so in-the-room.”
Her Story
Born in Columbus,
Made in the Music
Conrad “Connie” Reeder is a multi-talented artist born in Columbus, Ohio in 1954. She began her career as a professional singer and musician, working as a staff singer in Nashville studios and performing in various venues around the world with John Denver. Denver also recorded a song they co-wrote, “Thanks to You.”
Reeder pursued acting, studying at HB Studio in New York, performing in Off-Broadway shows, and formed her own bands to perform her original music with a record deal on MoRocco Records. She writes articles for periodicals including EQ Magazine and Sierra Club, and her work appears on gonzotoday.com.
She currently mentors grief workshops using writing genres — poetry, essay, dialogue, and narrative — to help people work through emotional pain. Reeder earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Theater & Communication Arts and is working on a doctorate in Mythological Studies with Depth Psychology.
She has worked as an English Adjunct, an independent script consultant and editor, and is currently writing a new TV series with the working title Elementals. She is also planning for a new Harmonic Ocean Project with her late husband Roger’s ocean recordings.
Reeder has two daughters, Cimcie and Ashlee, and two granddaughters, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Actors Equity, AFTRA, and NARAS.
